Filmmaker and former Mr. Madonna, Guy Ritchie, who co-owns the popular London pub The Punchbowl reportedly plans to bring ales and British pub traditions to the US.

Ritchie bought the pub while married to the “Queen of pop”; the pub attracts a star-studded crowd with celebrities, such as Justin Timberlake, Kevin Spacey, Sting, and Jude Law, in addition to gawkers in search of celebrities and regular neighbourhood people. Together with co-owner and entrepreneur, Nick House, Ritchie plans to bring the pub to New York first and then to Los Angeles, People.com reported.

“We want to start with a branch in New York first. It will be just like the one in Mayfair, styled like a traditional country pub with traditional pub food and real ales that we’d like to import from Britain. We’ve looked at one place, but we’re still in the early stages. We’re looking around the centre of Manhattan near Central Park,” Nick House told the London paper, The Evening Standard.

House also said in Los Angeles, they hope to offer the American people a proper English beer garden.

According to People.com, Richie has also been looking to launch his own beer under the possible registered names, “Bitta Ritchie” and “Punchbowl Ales”.
