That’s one way to settle
Florida Today.Com reported one of the more original lawsuit negotiation strategies in recent memory: Brent McMahon, the owner of a trailer dealership, has responded to Twilight movie star Taylor Lautner’s breach of contract lawsuit . . . by challenging the film-star to a push-up competition.
Lautner filed a lawsuit in August claiming that the dealership failed to deliver a $300,000 trailer on time for use as a dressing room on the set of the actor’s latest film. In response, McMahon proposed settling the dispute with a push-up competition. There does not appear to be any U.S. legal precedent for settling lawsuits with competitions of physical prowess.
On a final note, McMahon is 47. Lautner is 18 and has spent the majority of his teen years shirtless and working out. Smart money is not on McMahon.
Give us money or you’ll face a ‘black Europe’ says African leader

You can always count on Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi to provide good fodder for Periscope’s Mad Men column, and this week is no exception. As reported by the BBC, the Libyan leader has again been raising eyebrows with his loudly and frequently voiced controversial comments.
Speaking during a visit with fellow Mad Men regular, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Gaddafi claimed that the European Union should pay Libya at least 5 billion euros per year to stop illegal African immigration. Said the outspoken Libyan, Europe “could turn into Africa” as “there are millions of Africans who want to come in.” Then, evidently musing out loud at the prospect of a mass African immigration, he added, “We don’t know what will happen, what will be the reaction of the white and Christian Europeans faced with this influx of starving and ignorant Africans.”
And finally, from the department of grossly insensitive comments…
German Bundesbank board member, Thilo Sarrazin, has managed to simultaneously offend both Jewish and Muslim communities with remarks he made in the run up to the launch of his new book, Germany Abolishes Itself.
According to Sarrazin, “all Jews share the same gene” and Muslim immigrants in Europe are unwilling to integrate or incapable of integrating into western societies. And this coming from the same guy who was forced just last year to apologize for publicly stating that he did not “need to accept anyone who lives on handouts from a state that it rejects . . . and constantly produces new little headscarf-clad girls.”
